Three years ago I watched a tour operator in San Diego lose $4,000 in bookings over a holiday weekend because nobody could answer the phone. Four boats sitting at the dock. Eight open trip slots. Dozens of calls going to voicemail. That is when I knew the phone system for small businesses was broken. Not a little broken - fundamentally broken. So I built NeverClosed.AI. An AI phone agent that answers every call, handles every question, and closes every booking. 24/7/365. Now we serve 40+ industries and handle thousands of calls a month.
The Breaking Point
In 2015, I founded San Diego Tuna Fishing, which grew into the largest six-pack fishing fleet in San Diego with 22+ vessels. We also ran SixPackFishing.com a booking platform that got hammered with hundreds of calls every single day during summer season.
At first, that sounds like a good problem. It wasn't.
Every unanswered call went straight to a competitor. While I was on the phone explaining our refund policy for the 30th time that day a customer ready to book a $2,000 private charter was calling... and getting voicemail. By the time I called back, they'd already booked with someone else.
High-value VIP customers were getting lost in the noise of Groupon buyers asking basic questions. I couldn't afford enough salespeople to answer every call, but I couldn't afford to miss them either.
I had no life. No weekends. Constant stress from May through October. I was building a business that was slowly killing me inside.

I've been building internet companies since 1996. My first venture, PRICE.COM, was one of the internet's very first price comparison engines. Then came MonsterCommerce a shopping cart platform that got acquired by Network Solutions. After that, ChatStat, live chat software that went head-to-head with LivePerson when the industry was just starting.
I'm also a patent holder. My VR locomotion system (US Patent 10603577) predates Disney's HoloTile by years. I see paradigm shifts before they happen, broken UX patterns that everyone accepts until someone builds something better.
NeverClosed.AI is the third wave. This time it's personal. I built this tool because I needed it. Now I'm making it available to every small business owner who's drowning in the same chaos I was.
